“Dude, are you okay?” “How did you come up with that? – Are you on drugs?” – those are just some of the comments I’ve heard regarding my images. No I am not on drugs, and yes, I am okay. The images that I’ve created are a reflection of what was going on in my head at that point in time. A friend had asked me if everything was okay because of the dark nature of some of the pieces.  I replied that everything was okay, but little did I know that there were some underlying issues going on in my life that surfaced through my art. I was going through a stressful time, trying to start up and establish my career…

I spend a lot of time battling in my head and for most part of my life it has been a Me vs. Me type of battle. In one of my pieces I’m actually fighting with myself. The caption for that piece is: “The person you look at in the mirror is both your best friend and your worst enemy – you just have to remember whose side you’re on.”

"We all have our inner demons, but which of our inner demons has us?"

“We all have our inner demons, but which of our inner demons has us?”

“The person you look at in the mirror is both your best friend and your worst enemy – you just have to remember whose side you’re on.”

“The person you look at in the mirror is both your best friend and your worst enemy – you just have to remember whose side you’re on.”

Some people go for a run or go to the gym to cope with their problems and get things off of their mind– I, on the other hand, like to create imagery that provokes emotion. Even though there are some people that enjoy the pieces I create, it’s not just for them – it’s mainly for me. Art is my release.
